The Eagle has landed, and was worth the wait...

"The house isn't perfectly clean,
Mom's hair isn't perfectly styled,
But baby is [healthy and] happy and that's all that counts!"

OK, so here are the details:
Eliza Joy McEwan was born 14:28 Aug 14, 2009.
7 days early, 20& 1/2 inches, 8 & 3/4 pounds.

She was checked into NICU that night because she was somewhat lethargic and breathing was somewhat "wet". The first couple days were pretty scary for parents, but health quickly improved and doctors just wanted to finish off the antibiotic treatments. So 7 days and $45k later, she's home and doing great. (Thank goodness for insurance! Much better than the 30 year fixed rate alternative ;-)

Eliza is already shows remarkable talent in some kung fu and wrestling techniques.
Here is a video showing how Eliza utilizes her Praying Mantis style to consistently foil the doctors attempts to try to put in--and keep in--her I.V.: link
In this video, Eliza effectively performs the arch technique to deter swaddling and/or diaper changes: link

More actual videos to come later. (but seriously, the above clips are very close! :-)

But we do have some photos!

Eliza's "...don't make me angry. You wouldn't like me when I'm angry." performance.

The first of many! (Daddy's first diaper)

Mommy and baby in NICU. (Notice I.V. in head, it was about I.V. number 5, if you don't count the sticks that never got the I.V. in to begin with.)
